Unmanned Sites of George Washington Memorial Parkway Scope of Collection Statement

1985. Unmanned Sites of George Washington Memorial Parkway Scope of Collection Statement. National Park Service

This document defines what types of objects and records the unstaffed areas of the George Washington Memorial Parkway will maintain in its museum collections, as well as describing the George Washington Memorial Parkway's collection goals with respect to these areas and the laws and regulations that pertain to these collections. The document is intended to guide the George Washington Memorial Parkway in maintaining its collections by defining what these collections should and should not accept. Because of the nature of the areas described, the report recommends no active collection and suggests that most of the records collected for these areas should be archaeological. The areas described by this report included Fort Hunt at the time, however Fort Hunt Park has a more recent scope of collections statement which supersedes this one.
