The purpose of this biological assessment (BA) is to review the proposed Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP or parks) action, Greater Prairie Creek Ecosystem Restoration Program (GPCERP), in sufficient detail to determine if the proposed action may affect any terrestrial federal threatened or endangered species and/or their critical habitats. This BA is prepared in accordance with legal requirements set forth under section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (19 U.S.C. 1536 (c), 50 CFR 402), and meets the criteria for formal consultation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Proposed actions will occur within Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park (both part of RNSP) over the next 10 to 15 years.
