The purpose of this thesis is to develop a landscape management plan for Dungeness Historic District at Cumberland Island National Seashore. It includes site history, existing conditions, site plans, evaluation of integrity, and recommendations. This version of the report was presented as a Thesis for the Degree of Masters of Landscape Architecture and had not been subject to further editing or review. Although it is called a "plan," it was not, in March 1988, a management plan officially approved for use by the NPS. This is part of the CPSU Technical Reports series, produced by the NPS Cooperative Park Studies Unit at the Institute of Ecology (University of Georgia). The purpose is to make information about national parks and park-related problems quickly and easily available to interested scientists and park staff. CPSU Technical Reports are subject to technical editing and review for scientific accuracy by Institute staff.
