This document contains the contract documents for the stabilization of the Dungeness Mansion Ruins at Cumberland Island National Seashore as an invitation for bids. It includes a summary of the work, temporary facilities and controls, project closeout requirements, description of masonry work, and description of carpentry work. The proposed work insures the preservation of the Dungeness Mansion, an historic structure dating from ca. 1880 of historical and architectural significance. The principle features of the preservation work under this contract consist of: A. Rebuilding deteriorated and missing portions of masonry walls to reestablish the basic structural integrity of the standing ruins. B. Pointing of mortar joints where required. C. Timber shoring to stabilize original door and window openings.
