This historic structures report concerns the Toklat Patrol Cabin Complex (Building Number 4 and supporting structures) at Denali National Park and Preserve (Mount McKinley National Park at time of publication). The other structures in the complex consist of a food cache, eight two-dog kennels, and a privy. The patrol cabin was constructed during the early development of the park was representative of of the ingenuity and resourcefulness of park rangers to provide shelter from the elements for themselves and their sled dogs in a remote wilderness area of Alaska. The proposed use of the cabin complex was as a permanent interpretive exhibit and emergency shelter. The cabin, cache, and dog kennels would be restored to their original condition circa 1928. The report describes this work as well as the historical, architectural, archeological, landscape, and furnishings data. It includes estimated costs of proposed construction activity, photographs, and drawings.
