Historic Structures Report, Part I: Fort Jefferson National Monument
Robinson H. 1965. Historic Structures Report, Part I: Fort Jefferson National Monument. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Homestead, Florida
This brief report gives a status update on the maintenance of Fort Jefferson. Robinson gives a brief history of the fort, focusing primarily on the weathering the fort has sustained and prior attempts to maintain conditions. Reporting on projects which have already been approved, the report lists proposed construction projects including removing exfoliated iron, repairing brickwork, filling holes in the moat wall, and stabilizing cracked portions of the walls and arches. Robinson also recommends testing the parade grounds for evidence of structures present on plans, but no longer visually evident, as well as investigating what physical evidence of historic conditions is available.
