Historic Structure Report, Architectural Data: Fire and Intrusion Protection, Replacement of Electrical Systems
Simmonds RV, Siroky L, Case RC, Kozel JF. 1976. Historic Structure Report, Architectural Data: Fire and Intrusion Protection, Replacement of Electrical Systems. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Denver Service Center, Denver, Colorado
This historic structure report discusses intrusion detection, automatic fire control, and electrical systems in the Laboratory and Glenmont units at Edison National Historic Site. Recommendations for the best utilization of each system are presented. In addition, a section of the report covers mechanical requirements for three vaults of the Laboratory Unit. Because the scope of work for total protection of the site is extensive, this report proposes a multiple-phase construction schedule, based upon a priority listing. Construction cost estimates are also shown. The age of the existing electrical system at the Laboratory Unit makes its safety and proper functioning unreliable. Except for the main electrical service installed in connection with the construction of a heating system, the present electrical setup is generally deteriorated and inadequate for proper protection and interpretation of the area.
