Historic Structures Report, Part II: HB-49, Magazine

1966. Historic Structures Report, Part II: HB-49, Magazine. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This report concerns the Magazine (HB-49) of the Fort Davis National Memorial. In operation from 1854-1891, Fort Davis serves as one of the greatest examples of a typical frontier military outpost of the U.S. military in the 19th century. HB-49 was constructed in 1869-1871 after the United State military's reoccupation of the fort. The report suggests that the Magazine is to be given a protective roof suitable to the historic scene, accomplishing the dual purpose of preserving the original material and creating an effect similar to the historical period.
