Three PLOS papers offer contrasting profiles of climate change impacts on mountain ecosystems
Atkins J. 2016. Three PLOS papers offer contrasting profiles of climate change impacts on mountain ecosystems
Several articles investigating how our changing climate affects mountain ecosystems are included om the 2015 PLOS Ecological Impacts of Climate Change Collection - which has been updated by PLOS ONE Ecology Section Editor Ben Bond-Lamberty for the Centennial Meeting of the Ecological Society of America. While this collection spans a dizzying array of species and ecosystems, mountain ecosystems offer a fragile and unique perspective on the impacts of climate change. Here I highlight three articles within this collection related to mountain and forest ecosystems.
