Anaerobic PAHs biodegradation in thermophilic environments

Kraiselburd I and Meckenstock R. Anaerobic PAHs biodegradation in thermophilic environments. Research Permit and Reporting System

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of widely distributed pollutants composed of two or more fused aromatic rings, which produce hazardous effects on human health. This project aims at studying the mechanisms for the anaerobic degradation of PAHs by thermophilic microorganisms from petroleum-containing hot springs at Yellowstone National Park.
