This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides a conceptual overview of the land surface phenology data processing and reporting methods used by the Southern Colorado Plateau Network (SCPN) in the implementation of its satellite-based vegetation condition and phenology, and snow cover extent monitoring protocol (Thoma et al. 2017). It describes the issues and considerations that contributed to decisions about this process, and provides graphical examples of the processing steps and choices. To implement this protocol, staff should be proficient at scripting in Java, R, TSQL, and in using ArcGIS.
