The Glen Echo site is designated as a single historic district, with nine contributing structures and seven non-contributing properties. The historical period covered is 189-1940. (The district does not include the "upper" and "lower" parking areas, the trolley "right-of-way," the Clara Barton National Historic Site, or the Clara Barton parking area and the connecting bridge to Glen Echo Park.) Based on the project team's consideration of each structure's historical importance, present state of deterioration, and degree of utilization, a relative "priority" ranking was given to each building reviewed. This document surveys sixteen structures at Glen Echo Park. Each entry is given a title, use, photo, statement of historical importance, priority, architectural actions to be taken, structural description, mechanical actions to be taken, electrical actions to be taken, plumbing actions to be taken, and fire protection actions to be taken. The document also outlines the cooperative agreement between The National Park Service, Montgomery County, Maryland, and The State of Maryland.
