The first objective of this two-phase preservation project was first to perform the vital masonry repairs to stabilize the weakened & failing Tudor brick arch situated in the remains of the main entryway of the church ruins. The second objective of this project, Phase II, was to continue selective repair/rebuilding of failed wall sections, conduct a comprehensive repointing of approximately 1500 square feet of stone wall joints at all interior & exterior elevations with the primary focus on the elevated (scaffold) East elevation’s tower, walls, and corners. Other stabilization tasks included repair & replacement of wall head mortar caps, repair and/or replacement of wood lintels, conservation treatments of plaster remnants on interior surfaces and vegetation mitigation throughout the masonry feature.
