The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site preserves Springwood, the birthplace, lifelong home, and burial site of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This historic structures report architectural data section was prepared following a brief architectural examination of the Small Ice House at Springwood in 1959. The author round the entire fabric to be part of the original construction, with the exception of the upper layer of roof shingles and the siding on the walls. It is recommended that the log walls of the pit be reconstructed with new pentachlorafinal impregnated logs and the upper layer of the roof shingles be replaced.
