The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site preserves Springwood, the birthplace, lifelong home, and burial site of Franklin D. Roosevelt. On the ground of the Franklin E. Roosevelt National Historic Site at Hyde Park, New York are garden dating back to the mid-1800s, originally started by the previous owner of the estate. This report gives historical information on the various gardens and greenhouses of the FDR home at Hyde Park. With the exception of the addition of the parking area, the National Park Service has made few alteration to the garden and greenhouse of the same general appearance of the estate remain. This allows visitor to the estate an opportunity to obtain a complete understanding of the many interests with which the Roosevelt family surrounded themselves while at their Hyde Park home.
