Independence National Historical Park preserves sites associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This historic structures report concerns the Graff House at Independence National Historical Park. Also known as the Declaration House, Thomas Jefferson lodged at the house while writing the Declaration of Independence. The report proposes that the reconstructed Graff House be used as a museum and library. Special exhibits, audiovisual devices, limited furnishings in the second floor front room in which Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, and associated items will be employed to tell the story of the Declaration, its origin and influence. The library will be housed on the first floor, available to scholars and interested laymen for study purposes, would include primary source materials and secondary references and interpretive literature bearing on the Declaration and related subject matter.
