Contextualizing Recent Snowpack Trends of a Southeastern Arizona Mountain Range. Research Permit and Reporting System

SNP is home to a biodiverse mountain range which is dependent upon the melting snowpack at high elevations to maintain water supplies during the dry spring and summer. Climate change is altering not only the amount of snow accumulation in this region, but also the timing of snow melt. Here we present novel records of snow coverage and snow water equivalent derived from satellite data and a tree-ring reconstructions of winter hydrology to contextualize recent snow trends.
