Studies of cores from drill holes with detailed petrographic descriptions, paleomagnetic characterization and correlation, and conventional K-Ar and 40 Ar/39 Ar dating allow examination of the process of accumulation of basaltic lava flows in a part of the eastern Snake River Plain, Idaho.
