This standard operating procedure (SOP) describes the preparations necessary for the field season and includes a list of necessary field equipment. Preparations are completed by the start of the field season in late October or early November. Staff must review South Florida/Caribbean Network Forest Vegetation Monitoring: Protocol Implementation Plan by September of each year and revise any sections of the protocol narrative (Whelan et al. 2020) or associated SOPs based on lessons learned from the previous year.
