This standard operating procedure (SOP) provides instruction for how to collect and record data on species presence, stem diameter, and condition of all live and standing dead woody stems greater than or equal to 5 centimeters (2 inches [in]) diameter-at-breast height (DBH), within each of the four modules of the 20 × 20-meter (65.6 × 65.6 feet [ft]) forest vegetation plot. These data are used to track tree growth, mortality, condition, and stand composition over time. The datasheet used for this SOP is SFCN Veg Form 7—Tree Measurements and is in Appendix A of this SOP.
