Survey Report, Architectural Data: The Henry Whitehead Place, Cades Cove

Ross MD. 1957. Survey Report, Architectural Data: The Henry Whitehead Place, Cades Cove. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This report on the Henry Whitehead Place, Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, was written to accompany the measured drawings prepared for the Historic American Buildings Survey. These buildings were measured and drawn in the summer of 1957 by a student team composed of S.E. Henry and C.R. Lundy, under the direction of the writer. The group of buildings at the Henry Whitehead Place represents three types of log cabin construction. Since it includes a rare example of sawn-log construction, the group appears unique in the range of its use of logs.
