Harpers Ferry National Historical Park preserves historic resources and commemorates the historic events that occurred at and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The park consists of portions of the Lower Town, the former Storer College campus, landscapes associated with the national historical park’s Civil War significance, and lands preserving the historic viewshed down the Potomac River. This historic building site survey report concerns the James McGraw Lot (Lot 48, bldgs. 41 and 42) in the Lower Town area of Harpers Ferry. It is proposed that the lot be retained as a lawn and that the shadows on adjoining walls of buildings 40 and 43 be preserved. This report gives historical details of the lot and its buildings.
