Wetlands are an ecologically valuable yet threatened resource of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GRSM). Since 2010, GRSM Inventory & Monitoring staff have undertaken a geographically extensive wetland inventory to document the abundance, diversity and status of wetlands throughout the park. The inventory has been references on countless occasions for park compliance and serves as the groundwork for future wetland research and monitoring. This resource brief summarizes what we have learned from ten years of wetland inventory in GRSM.
