This standard operating procedure (SOP) provides instruction for establishing plots and collecting site-level information during both initial and revisit sampling years. Prior to establishing any plots, however, the protocol lead must ensure plot locations and marking procedures are approved by the natural resource manager at each park. These procedures may vary by park in response to individual park requirements. The datasheet for plot establishment is SECN Veg Form 1—Vegetation Plot Establishment and the datasheet for site-level measurements is SECN Veg Form 2—Site Characteristics. Both datasheets are included in Appendix A of this SOP.
