Curator's Report: Reconstruction of Wall (HB-1)

Brugge DM. 1971. Curator's Report: Reconstruction of Wall (HB-1). Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This document concerns repair work performed in the months of September through November, 1970 to the walls of HB-1, the Trading Post, at Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, to correct structural weaknesses that threatened the permanence of the building. The north walls of the Trader's Office and the Rug Room and the west wall of the store, or "Bull Pen," had developed very noticeable outward bulges centering on the doors in these walls. These bulges appeared to be advancing at a rate observable over a period of months.
