This Completion Report concerns the stabilization of the Martinez Adobe at John Muir National Historic Site. The south porch and kitchen wall of the Martinez Adobe were stabilized by building new foundation walls. A box beam was replaced by a new treated Douglas Fir beam. Porch posts were made plumb, a second course of flooring which covered the original flooring was removed. Decking to match original was installed to replace unsound original wood. The existing kitchen wall was removed and a new wall built between a porch post previously enclosed in the kitchen wall and a pilaster that had remained within the kitchen. A new French drain was installed along the foundation.
