Summary Report of Phase III of a Cultural Resources Inventory within Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Areas of investigation include the John River, Helpmejack Hills and Lakes, Lake Kipmik, Lake Amitchiak, Chandler Lake, Agiak Lake, and Anaktuvuk Pass area. The purpose of this field work was to locate, identify, define, enumerate, and document historic and prehistoric cultural sites through reconnaissance-level, pedestrian surface survey. Archaeological work was carried out by a team of four to eight National Park Service Archaeologist and a North Slop Borough ethnohistorian/archaeologist during the months of June, July, and August 1986.
