"In March 2006, the Project starts to implements by the Chuuk-HPO staffs. This parts of the work start from the recruitment process to the implementation stage. And, as a result of the recruitment process, one (1) master weaver and two (2) assistant weavers were identify and oriented to go about the scope of work for the Weaving project. There were also ten (10) trainee trainer trains and are sign-up for this project. These trainees were not compensated but trains on a day-to-day basis. The Chuuk-HPO personnel play the major role for the project. The Chuuk Historic Preservation Office arranged to be the training site and the size of the room are just enough to taken care the project staff. During different time and period in April 2006 when the weavers gather and weave the materials, the staffs were able to collect a number of videos that anticipate for the use of the historic video series. They were also able to documenting and do interviewing each particular areas of the project. The quality of the slides of video may not be good, because of the camcorder camera we have in the Office is very old type and are not quality. This project can be extending to include materials and products on the website for Chuuk Historic Preservation at; www/chuukhistoric.org/index.htm and, the photographic pictures collected can be also searchable on-line together with the rest of the materials. (This entry also includes thirty-two pictures of the master weaver, assistant weavers, and trainees weaving, as well as the products they created.)" Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Chuuk Historic Preservation Office of the Federated States of Micronesia, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number 64-03-18258).
