Minute Man National Historical Park protects 970 acres in and around the Massachusetts towns of Lexington, Lincoln, and Concord, commemorating the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War. This supplement provides archeological data concerning the Josiah Nelson Farm. Eight building sites were found on land which, at one time or another, belonged to Josiah Nelson. These are: 1. the Josiah Nelson house, 2. the Josiah Nelson barn, located behind and slightly to the east of the house, 3. an unidentified small structure in front of the Nelson house, 4. an unidentified small structure in front and to the west of the house, 5. site 22, a house site about 100 yards west of the Josiah Nelson house, 6. site 23, the site of a shed or workshop to the rear or north of site 22, 7. site 24, the site of a house dating from the early 18th century and belonging to a Christopher Mudgin, located in the meadow some 200 yards east of the Josiah Nelson house, and 8. a barn site south of Nelson Road, opposite sites 22 and 23.
