Minute Man National Historical Park protects 970 acres in and around the Massachusetts towns of Lexington, Lincoln, and Concord, commemorating the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War. The purpose of this report is to provide historical information on the Farwell Jones House on Lexington Road in East Concord. The report author concludes that the house which currently stands on the property has been altered so drastically that its historical value is questionable. The report recommends that a historical architect be permitted access to the property to examine both the exterior and interior of the house and barn to ascertain the accuracy of the author's contentions. The report presents a history of ownership through the chain of title to the property and public records. The previous tenants left virtually no written records, and there is only occasional mention of a house and barn located there as early as 1686.
