Independence National Historical Park preserves sites associated with the American Revolution and the nation's founding history in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Historic Structures Report concerns the Independence Hall steeple and the rehabilitation of the exterior woodwork. The report found that the exterior woodwork of the brick tower is the original, put in place when the tower was erected. The report recommends that every effort be made to preserve it intact. The steeple is a restoration and has undergone numerous repairs in its history.
