Executive Summary: "The city of Roswell Phase One Historic Resources Survey was conducted in an effort to comprehensively document an estimated 725 parcels, comprised of buildings, structures, sites, and objects constructed before 1977, within and directly adjacent to the locally designated Roswell Historic District. A total of 809 resources 40 years old or older were identified within the established survey area. Of the 809 resources, 376 were previously-identified in the historic resources survey completed in 2001. Furthermore, 53 of the previously-identified resources are no longer extant. The city of Roswell's current National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) listings include three individual properties and one historic district. The individually listed properties are the Archibald Smith House, Barrington Hall, and Bulloch Hall, The listed district is the Roswell Historic District, which encompasses approximately one-third of the locally designated district." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Historic Preservation Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, Department of the Interior (grant number P17AF00068).
