Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve
2011-2019. Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve
This reference is an assemblage of field data collected as part the baseline vegetation inventory for the park unit. Typical files here are vegetation plot data, accuracy assessment data, field photos, PDF showing locations of vegetation plots and accuracy assessment data, and other data for this type. Field work and ground truthing for TIMU took place on November 4, 2014 and December 12-14, 2014. A third field visit occurred March 23-27, 2015, but corruption of the original file rendered the data collected irretrievable. The locations of these field visits were intended to give specific attention to: (1) representative habitats; (2) rare and important communities; (3) areas that have been managed, disturbed, or invaded; and (4) plots previously surveyed by NatureServe. These visits were conducted to collect data on canopy species composition, diagnostic species for NVCS, and terrain, similar to NatureServe’s “Quick Plot” surveys
