Introduction: "The Brookside Cemetery Preservation Plan provides the background and analysis to guide the City of Dayton, the Dayton School District, and the Brookside Cemetery Association in the cemetery's maintenance and restoration. This preservation plan involved an investigation and assessment of the cemetery's site characteristics, landscape features, and cemetery objects. The plan assesses, recommends, and prioritizes projects according to need to assist in future interpretation, research, preservation, and restoration work. This plan will provide the basis for future management and expenditure decisions affecting Brookside Cemetery." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P17AF00025).
