This Historic Structure Report (HSR) addresses Quarters 208, located in San Juan National Historic Site in Puerto Rico. Constructed in the second half of the nineteenth century, the building was possibly used for Spanish government activities, but, more likely, was used as a private, non-military residence. The goal of the HSR is to develop planning information for use in the repair, maintenance, and preservation of historically significant buildings and structures. The HSR addresses key issues specific to Quarters 208, including the history of the building; the design and construction of the building; the existing physical condition of the exterior envelope, structural systems, and primary interior spaces and features; and the historic significance and integrity of the structure. The HSR consists of the management summary, history, description and condition assessment, and significance and integrity evaluation, followed by discussion of the treatment approach and recommendations. Two appendices are included: measured drawings and finishes analysis.
