Report on Mount Locust

Wilson S. 1955. Report on Mount Locust. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This report details an investigatory visit to Mount Locust. The author found the house undoubtedly a very old one for the area, of a type that is rapidly disappearing, and has great historical and architectural interest. It is recommended that in the restoration, as much as possible of the original house should be retained, including such additions and alterations that have been incorporated in it, excepting such portions as have already been removed as being obviously of comparatively recent date and lacking in architectural interest. The house need not be restored necessarily to a particular date in its development, but could well be a composite of several periods to show to the best advantage its most interesting architectural features.
