Preliminary Report, Part I: D'Evereux

Preliminary Report, Part I: D'Evereux. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This report concerns D'Evereux, a proposed acquisition for Natchez Trace Parkway. The house, which faces the old Natchez Trace, now U.S. Highway 61, is an imposing example of antebellum architecture which flowered in its vicinity between 1830 and 1850. It is recommended that it be used as a historic house-museum, similar to Mount Locust, which is 15 miles to the north.
