Historic Structure Preservation Guide: Nez Perce National Historical Park

1987. Historic Structure Preservation Guide: Nez Perce National Historical Park. Historic Structure Management Plan. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

A Historic Structure Preservation Guide is a reference to assist park maintenance managers in planning and directing preservation maintenance on historic or prehistoric structures. The guide: clarifies maintenance responsibilities, prioritizes and identifies what must be maintained, details all structure feature specifications, defines the physical condition of the structures on a periodic basis, establishes a routine, preventive and cyclic work activity list, and tracks maintenance activities. Maintenance managers as well as cultural resource managers find the HSPG helps organize the maintenance process, provides a format for accountability, and provides a means for evaluating maintenance activities. It contains structure specific work activities, and inventory and condition assessment information referenced to the Service's maintenance management program and reference materials. This HSPG covers six buildings at Nez Perce National Historical Park: Watson's Store, Agent's Residence, Agency Log Cabin, Pierce Courthouse, St. Joseph's Mission, and Lapwai Army Officer's Quarters.
