Horseshoe Bend National Military Park: Geologic resources inventory report

Barthelmes M. 2020. Horseshoe Bend National Military Park: Geologic resources inventory report. Natural Resource Report. NPS/NRSS/GRD/NRR—2020/2158. National Park Service. Fort Collins, Colorado

This GRI report synthesizes discussions from a scoping meeting held in 2012 for Horseshoe Bend National Military Park (referred to as the “park” throughout this report) and a follow-up conference call in 2018. Chapters of this report discuss the park’s geologic setting and significance and draw connections between geologic and cultural resources, outline the geologic history leading to the present-day landscape, describe geologic issues facing resource managers, suggest future geologic investigations pertinent to the park’s resources, and provide information about the previously completed GRI map data.
