From Our Mission: "Haywood Heritage will work to preserve the architectural and cultural heritage of Brownsville & Haywood County, foster economic revitalization of historic districts and traditional neighborhoods, and promote education, awareness, and best practices for preserving historic historic assets. Haywood Heritage advocates for the preservation of places and structures with historic or cultural significance in Haywood County." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Tennessee Historical Commission, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P17AF00055).
