Jefferson Court Apartments Historic Structure and Exterior Building Assessment

Conclusion: "This apartment is a significant contributing structure to the "Old West End" historic district and should be preserved. This is an unusual style to find in an inland city such as Danville and especially in a Victorian neighborhood. This shows the progression of architecture from the late 19th century Victorian dwellings, to the later Arts and Craft apartments across the street (circa 1920) that started at the turn of century, and finally to the more European based Mediterranean Revival style of this particular building. This is also an important transitional period in Danville History as these older neighborhoods became "out of fashion" for the upper classes and the larger houses were either being converted to multi-family or torn down to make way for more dense and multi-family units, as was the case for the Jefferson Court Apartments. Despite its current condition, this structure could once again shine."
