This Historic Structures Report concerns the "Sprague Cabin" at Rocky Mountain National Park. While the structure has been known as the Sprague "homestead" cabin, research indicates that Abner E. Sprague's 1875 homestead cabin is not the structure being reported upon. From research evidence, a more accurate name for this simple log building is "Sprague Ranch Historic Guest Cabin," building no. 659. The early log structure is proposed for use as an historical exhibit, portraying the very simple type of visitor accommodation available in the 1880s. It has been recommended for designation as a class cc structure in the Historic American Building Survey.
