Preface: "This [2009] calendar published by the Bureau of Arts and Culture and Historic Preservation Program under the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs. The information contain herein is abstracted from Rechuodel Volume I by the Society of Historians (1995). The goal is to promote and educate the public about the traditional calendar year in Palau and how it relates to the modern calendar. It also promotes preservation and protection of Cultural and Historical Heritage of the Republic of Palau." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to Palau Historic Preservation Office, Bureau of Arts and Culture, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
