ABR, Inc.—Environmental Research & Services (ABR) worked with the NPS, GeoNorth, and Airbus to prepare a high-resolution satellite imagery mosaic for Katmai National Park and Preserve (KATM) and Alagnak Wild River (ALAG). A set of 4-band (blue/green/red/near-infrared) orthomosaics were compiled from Pleiades satellite imagery collected primarily in summer 2015 over these parklands. The mosaic was based on multispectral satellite imagery (2 m resolution) and pan-sharpened satellite imagery (0.5 m resolution) acquired by the Pleiades constellation of 2 satellites. Positional accuracy met 1:12,000 map scale standards, with 10 m circular error 90% (CE90). The imagery mosaics were color balanced and calibrated to surface reflectance by matching the spectral response to a midsummer Landsat 8 composite using a per-image, per-band linear regression.
