2011-2019 City of Sioux Falls Facade Easement Program

2019. 2011-2019 City of Sioux Falls Facade Easement Program. South Dakota State Historical Society; Sioux Falls Board of Historic Preservation; City of Sioux Falls Planning & Development Services; Siouxland Heritage Museums

About the Program: "In 2002, the Historic Facade Easement Program was founded to promote the City of Sioux Falls' goals of downtown revitalization and historic preservation. Through the program, the City purchases the facade of the building the property owner or developer dedicates the purchase price to the restoration of the historic structure's original exterior appearance. The Historic Facade Easement Program has been, and continues to be, a catalyst for the renaissance of downtown Sioux Falls, and it stands as an excellent example of public and private partnership working together to preserve the historical integrity of our downtown's older buildings." Project funding was provided by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the South Dakota State Historical Society administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P18AF00022).
