Education Luncheon on Historical Preservation presentation: Design Guidelines

Williams J. 2018. Education Luncheon on Historical Preservation presentation: Design Guidelines. Ohio State Historic Preservation Office, Ohio Historical Society; City of Lancaster

"Design Guidelines are a series of recommendations based on sound preservation philosophy. Historic features that give a building its character should be repaired and preserved. If a historic feature is deteriorated beyond repair or missing, it should be replaced with a new feature that matches the old in design and appearance. New features or new construction should be be complementary to and compatible with the historic building and the historic district." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Ohio State Historic Preservation Office, Ohio Historical Society, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P17AF00030).
