Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is a historic house museum in Hyde Park, New York. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1940. It is owned and operated by the National Park Service. This Historic Structure Report concerns the Potting Shed in the Vanderbilt Gardens. The potting shed has no building number assigned since it was considered to have been an integral part of Buildings No. 14 and 15, the two rose houses in the Vanderbilt gardens until their demolition in 1947. There are no plans outlined, or even considered, in the Master Plan Development Outline or in the MISSION 66 program for the area, nor is there a likelihood that any plans will be made in the foreseeable future to utilize this structure in any program for Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.
