This report addresses fire prevention and protection at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, including equipment, water systems, and details about the structure. It is based upon an inspection of the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, including auxiliary buildings on the site; the study of the "Historic American Buildings Survey Plan of 1941", examination of plans of the 1915 additions; information obtained on the water supply; pressure tests of hose streams; information obtained from the Hyde Park Water Department; and data obtained from the plan of the water distribution system of Hyde Park. The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site preserves Springwood, the birthplace, lifelong home, and burial site of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
