The 1985 Cultural Landscape Inventory for Buckner Homestead documents the physical characteristics, historic significance, and primary features of the landscape. It also includes a section on the landscape history. William Buzzard built a log cabin at this site in the Stehekin Valley in 1889. He sold the property to William and Mae Buckner, who lived seasonally in Buzzard's cabin with their family beginning in 1911. Features of the landscape today, such as the orchard, irrigation, structures, and remote location near the Stehekin River, represent the working homestead during the Buckners' ownership.
