This report is the archeological data section of the historic structure report for Lindenwald. The preparation of the historic structure report was required for the planned rehabilitation of the structure, the Martin Van Buren home. The excavation upon which this section of the report is based took place in 1978. In this archeology report, a brief overview of the history of the house is followed by a statement of the archeological research objectives and the field and laboratory strategies. Section IV and V include a description of each structural feature and a discussion of the distribution and characteristics of specific artifacts. Based on this data, the research objectives are considered in Section VI. The final section contains a summary of the results of the research and a statement outlining areas of potential significance in the immediate vicinity of Lindenwald.
